The City Limit Band's Occasional Newsletter

February 4, 2005Up-to-date news about The CLB ! Right!
What's coming up?
I've decided to try something different with the mailing list. If you're receiving this for the first time in a while or the first time ever, and wish to keep receiving future newsletters, then enjoy. If you don't wish to continue on the mailing list, or wish to submit a friend or a different email address, reply to me here at webmaster@citylimit.us. Sorry for any intrusion, your privacy is very important to us and you will be removed from the list immediately, if you opt out.
Also, now (well you could have for a while now...) you can have your own citylimit.us email address, email me your request for a "handle" and password preference, and it's done. Your new email address will redirect to your existing email address, and you can give out your new citylimit.us address to all your friends. Anyway, back to the newsletter...
Write this one on your calendars (or better yet, print ours!) Coming to Coyotes Willys, on Friday, February 18th after The Limits warm things up!,

Come out to Bluffs Run Casino, Council Bluffs, IA February 8th THROUGH the 13th, 7-11PM, we'll be "excited" to see at "at every turn"!

10 days until my 19th wedding anniversary! ...19 years with my "one hot mama" Denise! I love you... she's gonna have a few choice words for me over this I think!?! Might have to write my first retraction issue! Think about it though you also have responsibilities on that day, I'll give you a hint...

What's happened lately?
It was our first weekend back in Saloon and Dance Hall Ralston, NE! It was great! The new layout gives the dancers more room and a great time was had by all!! Thanks to Frank and the rest of the staff for having us in there again.

Little did we know that it would be our last weekend at Fergie's place, The Phoenix Club in Kearney Nebraska! They are changing things up after all these years, different format, and who knows what all else! What are the hardcore country fans in Kearney going to do for a country fix?!? Drive to Lincoln to see us, that's what!!! heh-heh ;^) We'll miss Fergie and the gang, hopefully he'll be able to open his own country place in Kearney!

The Country Kickers had one Kicker of a Year End Party at the Keno Cabana in Bennington, NE this last Saturday Night! They had a dance step routine ready for every song, most of them had a very interesting naming scheme... ;^o
John's Jolt For This letter -
(a reissue from the last letter, not because I'm lazy, but because I have new subscribers to please... yeah that's it, new subscribers, not lazy!)

TONE CLUSTER: A kind of chordal orgy, a smorgasbord of musical tones. First discovered by a very well-endowed lady pianist, while leaning forward to turn a page.

MUSICAL SNOB: A person who pretends to know more about music than we pretend to.

WRONG NOTES: It must be understood that this is a relative term, and applies only to those examples performed by someone else.

Jeff Newman - (January 7, 1942 - April 7, 2004), The World's Most Foremost Steel Guitar Instructor. From his Dictionary of Musical Terms. We'll miss you Jeff!

We'll miss Steel Guitar legends; Jim Murphy (Jan 2005) and Jimmy Crawford (Feb 2005) as well.

From the band that is takin' it to the limits, and looking for the tone clusters in life...

The Q & A Session

A new addition to the newsletter, you ask a question of the band or a member of the band, and I'll post it to the next newsletter. (Please no profanity, foul, or s-e-x-ually explicit language.) (Pay no attention to the fact the last one submitted never got answered, you might get lucky!, you never know, it could happen!)
