The City Limit Band's Occasional Newsletter

September 23, 2004Up-to-date news about The CLB ! Right!
What's happened lately?
Man it's hard to believe it's been 2 months since I sent out the last newsletter, on the other hand, it let's you know I do actually have a life.
Anyway, the
concert @ the Crawford County Fairgrounds in Denison IOWA was awesome! I was hoping to have pictures up on the site by now, maybe this weekend, more on that in the next section. We've been having our usual fun at our usual stomping grounds. The Coyotes Willys gigs have been fun, we were bringing in the "new" Big Willys, not that they're going to call it that, but at this moment they should be putting the finishing touches after knocking down that center wall and expanding the club to use the whole building, 1 BIG party place, check it out!!!

What's coming up?

We have a special weekend planned at Fergie's place, The Phoenix Club in Kearney Nebraska! Come on out Friday night and be a part of the Grand Experience! Our Sound and Lighting Technician / Equipment Consultant / Friend, Aaron Fenton has some new digital recording equipment, and we want to try to do a live recording at the Phoenix Club. But we need your help to pull it off properly... ROAD TRIP time, we need the help of our friends and fans all over to jam-pack this place, and party City Limit style. Make your plans now to join us for this weekend! You know ya gotta... We don't want anybody to miss the fun! (This is when I hope to have time to get the pictures on the site... we'll see! )
John's Jolt For This letter
TONE CLUSTER: A kind of chordal orgy, a smorgasbord of musical tones. First discovered by a very well-endowed lady pianist, while leaning forward to turn a page.

MUSICAL SNOB: A person who pretends to know more about music that we pretend to.

WRONG NOTES: It must be understood that this is a relative term, and applies only to those examples performed by someone else.

Jeff Newman - (January 7, 1942 - April 7, 2004), The World's Most Foremost Steel Guitar Instructor. From his Dictionary of Musical Terms. We'll miss you Jeff!
